Sports and games

People all over the world like sport. Sport makes you healthier, keep you fit and it is just a great pleasure! During the latest years sport facilities in our town has been developed in some way. There are some free of charge gymnastic facilities for the adults in some areas of our city. Unfortunately they are not in every region of the city; or they are damaged by the people without any reason. Anyway I used to go to one of them near my grandmother’s on summer vacation. That is very comfortable for the people of all age and they are available during anytime of the day. The only minus is that people cannot use them during cloudy and rainy weather or during cold winter. I think it would be a good idea to have sport centers or clubs free of charge in any area of the city. The new facilities could improve the health of children and adults, keep them fit and in good shape. Most of the teenagers will have somewhere to go and something to do instead of stay in the street. Also, elderly people could benefit from a sport centre by joining clubs and activities appropriate for their age. I think it will be a good idea to organize competitions of various types of sports within the regions of Yerevan or other countries of our republic. The more people of different ages involved into sport the stronger and healthy generation is brought up, as sport makes people healthy. There is a proverb: «healthy mind is in a healthy body». In any country huge amount of attention is always given to sport, especially in schools, colleges and universities. You can hardly find a school without a gym or a sports ground. At school we have physical training lessons twice a week. There is always a kind of sport which will suit you and there are many different kinds to choose from. I choose basketball. There are some sport facilities in our school as well. Pupils of our school can take part in any of the organized activities listed below at any time during the whole week with some payment: body-building, swimming, football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, table-tennis, box, etc. I go to body-building and think that is a good way to be in a good form and to remain strong. There are so many different sport activities in our city. But all of them are payable and unfortunately not all the people can attend such places. There is including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, gyms, skating rings, tennis courts and bowling. There are also opportunities for hiking, cycling, and horse riding. Sport also has disadvantages. I know it for sure that being a professional sportsman is very harmful for health as well. Besides it takes all your time and life. I prefer to take sport as a hobby.
